The Rogue
The Rogue, such a controversial toon that you could make, you will experience the most drama being a Rogue I do believe, you will either do too much damage or do too little damage, you will never be perfect. Now, this guide is not to discourage you from being a Rogue but to give you a tough love guide in order for you to straighten up your act, I can rant all day about the percentage of Rogues that do not even know what they are for and they try to be everything and they can not just settle for being the games highest DPS capable class, and I say “capable” because more than 80% of Rogues are not living up to their name and yes I do know that 80% of all percentages are made up on spot just like this one but besides that I do hope this guide will help you in becoming a better player of your great class and I know this guide is not everything in teaching you to become the best more like this guide is placed here in order for the rogues to stop giving us bad names, so that we may one day have a place in a raid and not be the whole raid’s little “bitxh”, understand? If you said yes, you are 100% correct but it is not all playful you need to be organized at your killing, I will teach you how to not get thrown out of guilds and how to keep up our glorious name as a Rogue! This guide will tell you the Pro and the Cons about being this thing that Blizzard like to consider a Rogue and also teaches you how to not be a tank even though we all would like to be an evasion tank, but we will get to that later, continue reading please… P2. I am a rogue, what do we do anyways? I am glad you asked! Your job as a rogue is simple, get as much damage on a specific single target in the shortest amount of time without getting aggro and wiping the raid or party, sound simple? I am glad you think so, because I like killing dreams. Being a Rogue means you do not do damage to multiple targets, you do not take all the damage from one source, you do not heal others and lastly you do not go in alone! Yes, this could sound simple, but it gets harder than you think but to ease your burden of pressure I will show you some talent builds that will help you out being a nice little Rogue such as yourself. P3. Pick locks, kill things, um there are variations? The information posted about builds are not made by me and the links provided are maintained and kept by other sources. I will do my best to explain each build as much as possible though. Level 70 Dagger Builds:
Combat Daggers - 15/41/5 - PvE
Mutilate - 41/20/0 - PvE Focus
Mutilate - 41/20/0 - PvP
Mutilate - 43/0/18 - PvP
Seal Fate / Premed - 30/0/31
Shadowstep Build - 20/0/41 - PvP Level 70 Swords/Fist/Maces Builds:
Combat Swords - 20/41/0
Tri-spec Combat Hemo - 11/28/22 - PvE
Shadowstep Swords - 20/0/41 - PvP
Shadowstep Swords(Combat) - 0/20/41 - PvP
AR/Prep - 0/31/30 - PvP
Old School Hemo - 27/3/31 - PvP There, that should have gave you your fix on talent builds for rogues, I will update this guide as more patches come out but for now they are great builds that is built for almost anyone and I recommend to try them all out before you are done with your poor rogue, who knows, you may fall in love. P4. There are positives about being a Rogue? OMG! Pro’s: 1. Being a rogue means you will get all the sexy NE ladies.
2. You can do massive DPS in a raid and laugh at the poor little healers.
3. Rogues are able to lockpick to receive epic lewtz!
4. A man of your stature will be able to epic sprint to match a mount.
5. You can stay alive when your group is going to wipe (i.e Vanish!) Con’s: 1. You will most likely get STD’s from those nasty NE’s.
2. Rogue’s can not epic heal.
3. Tanking may not suit you so well.
4. You will be just considered “DPS” in a raid, no love.
5. If you are looking to AoE, a Mage will be more of your thing. P5. I am THE Rogue. So, you now know what you should and should not do, what you are and what you are not. Is there anything you would like to say for yourself? If not then I expect every Rogue I see in a PUG to be honorable or ugh, dishonorable rather. Please come back to this guide often as it will be updated frequently and will have bonus content maybe even some self rogue loathing, who knows. Remember, Rogues do it from behind, so watch out for those STD’s! |
